Having recently been a student myself, I know the feeling of finding new clothes I want to buy and not having the funds to do so. I felt that this was a common problem.
Why can’t e-commerce sites remember what I wanted a month ago now that I have money!
So that’s what I’m aiming to make here, an e-commerce site that remembers what I wanted and has a page specific to me. This page would have saved information, such as size, colour preferences and liked styles, to aid the user in finding a previously found product.
I conducted unmoderated surveys to gain an insight into how users between the ages of 18-30 go about buying the clothes they want.
I assumed that people didn’t have a way of remembering what they want to buy, however in some of my findings, it was apparent that users would check the website daily, performing the same search for the item they wanted, just to check if it was still there.
Creating a user experience that aided users in keeping track of their desired purchases while ensuring easy access from all points of the website. This would enable users to enter at different points of the website and still achieve their goal.
I wanted to create an experience where the user can quickly re-find and purchase what they wanted. From this, I designed a profile page for the user that would remember key information such as size, colour preference, price range, payment information, saved products and even product suggestions based on their interests.
I designed a journey for the user where they could start on any page and thereafter navigate to their profile page, find their saved products, and check out in the quickest possible time.
Overall I was happy with this case study, I would like to conduct a final usability study to see if there are any points of improvement for future iterations.
